On 21 March 2025, CKWP celebrated its 35th anniversary in Seoul. Among the guests were Prof. Dr Bernhard Seliger and Kim Young-Soo from the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation, who particularly emphasised the long-standing good partnership with CKWP.

On 19 March 2025, a meeting was held with representatives of K-Water and the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST).

Reactions in the media around the world were very mixed. For this reason, Debora Tydecks-Zhou and Dominik Sprenger (HSS China), Prof. Dr Bernhard Seliger (HSS Korea) and Felix Glenk (HSS Mongolia) reported on the effects of the US change of power on their respective countries in the series ‘Change of perspective: Hanns Seidel Foundation staff abroad report’ on 27 February 2025.

On 27 February 2025, Dr Hyun-Ah Choi, HSF Korea, participated in an international workshop of the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership Black-faced Spoonbill Working Group. During this, the experts evaluated the previous action plan, which has not been updated since 2010, assessed the current status, identified knowledge gaps and developed a new 10-year action plan to support the recovery of the black-faced spoonbill, including the case of the DPRK.

In February, meetings were held with Dr Ahn Ji-Ho from the Goyang Research Research Institute (GYRI), as well as with the HKBWS and WWF HK Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre. Dr Bernhard Seliger also took part in a one-week planning workshop on future project work in Northeast Asia with colleagues from China, Mongolia and Munich. In Addition, Dr Bernhard Seliger participated in the ADeKo night and the New Year's reception.

On 13 February 2025, Prof. Bernhard Seliger, representative of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea and Kim Young-Soo from Hanns-Seidel-Foundation, held a special lecture for teachers of Sabuk Middle and High School in Jeonseong, Gangwon Province. The topic of the lecture was the difficult balance between civic education for democracy and undue influence of the government.

On January 31st 2025, in the office of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation in the Czech Republic, a small, but very intensive discussion took place with partners of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation and interested experts on the relations of the Czech Republic with North and South Korea and the current situation on the Korean Peninsula.
