Workshop: North Korea after the 7th Party Congress – Political and Economic Perspectives
The events of spring 2016, such as the 4th nuclear test but also the announcement of a 7th Party Congress of the Worker’s Party of Korea (WPK) after more than 35 years, draw once again the attention to North Korean Policy. Strict sanctions, such as those of the United Nations or the closure of the Kaesong Industrial Complex, are therefore only a few of many responses to the North Korean behavior, which repeatedly violated former resolutions by the UN Security Council by conducting a nuclear test and several attempted rocket launches.
