The meetings with Central Asian Flyway range states diplomats were organized to promote HSF’s Global Project for Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change and raise awareness of climate change and biodiversity issues among diplomats from CAF range states. HSF Korea is working as a member of the CMS Flyway Working Group(ref. UNEP/CMS/FWG3/Inf.2.) and arranged meetings with diplomats to share information from the CMS COP14 and to make further opportunities to cooperate

On August 28-29, 2024, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Workshop on Nature Conservation and Biodiversity for Transboundary Cooperation was held in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea. The workshop explored the importance of ecological connectivity for the conservation of endangered species in Northeast Asia, bringing together bird and mammal experts from South Korea, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Russia, and other countries in Northeast Asia to explore ways to collaborate on transboundary and transnational issues.

Dr. Hyun-Ah Choi, senior researcher at HSF Korea, joined the Advisory Group of the Restoration, Creation, and Management of Salt Marshes and Tidal Flats—A Collation of Evidence-Based Guidance led by Conservation Science Group at the University of Cambridge, Wetlands International in 2024. She commented on the report. It’s related to habitat conservation including migratory species, birds.

The first of two parts of this year's issue of the ‘Korean Journal of Unification Affairs’ has been published by the Institute for Peace Affairs (IPA), an important cooperation partner of Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea.

Dr Seliger's recent article published in Korum Magazine entitled "Towards a Green Revolution in North Korea - Hydropower, International Climate Regimes and the Nuclear Elephant in the Room" explores the history of industrialisation in North Korea, participation in the implementation of international energy and climate policies, and how the nuclear and military programme stands in the way of the development towards a green revolution.

On 1 August 2024, the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) was represented by Prof. Dr. Seliger and researcher Hyunah Choi at the Expert Work Session for the Biosphere Reserve Wetlands Nature Centre, held in Jeongok, Yeoncheon. This symposium marks a significant stride towards integrating sustainable practices into urban development.
