On June 18, 2025, international experts from countries such as India, Korea, and Uzbekistan joined a Hanns Seidel Foundation Masterclass to discuss migratory bird conservation along the Central Asian Flyway. Key topics included CMS, species protection, the role of NGOs, and next steps in regional cooperation.

On June 9, 2025, the Korean Council for Peace and Cooperation (KCPC), EURAXESS, and the Hanns Seidel Foundation hosted a roundtable at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Experts discussed the geopolitical developments in the U.S., developments in the war in Ukraine, and the future of South Korea’s North Korea policy.

Despite the global end of the Covid-19 pandemic, North Korea remains largely isolated. In a closed-door workshop with researchers of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Dr. Bernhard Seliger (Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea) discussed pathways for renewed European engagement, joined by expert commentary from Prof. Lee Moo-Sung and support from EURAXESS.

At Tongwon University in Gwangju, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Seliger shared insights on cross-border environmental cooperation in Northeast Asia, drawing on Germany’s reunification experience and offering concrete ideas for regional collaboration.

As part of the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation, the Government of Tajikistan, in partnership with the UN and international organizations including the Hanns Seidel Foundation, convened global stakeholders in Dushanbe to forge joint strategies against rapid glacier loss and toward a climate-resilient future.
