On April 8, 2025, experts and conservationists gathered in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, for a workshop focused on safeguarding migratory birds along the Central Asian Flyway. The event highlighted key conservation challenges, including threats to vultures, and discussed strategies like "Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures" (OECMs). Participants also explored opportunities for regional cooperation and joint research.

From 3 to 5 April, the first EU-Central Asia summit and climate forum took place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with the aim of intensifying the EU's relations with the region. The focus was on topics such as sustainable development, green energy and the promotion of environmental initiatives. Particularly noteworthy was the presentation of a ‘green belt’ initiative to counteract desertification and the expansion of cooperation between the Central Asian states.
