On June 26th, Dr Hyun-Ah Choi, Senior researcher at HSF Korea, participated in the DMZ Peace Road and Goyang Advisory Group meeting related to cooperation between the two Koreas. The participants discussed the raising awareness programme for citizens and youth in Goyang City.

On June 5th, Prof. Dr. Dr. Alexander Görlach held a seminar on the overarching theme of Modern Politics, focusing on contemporary questions such as “Are We Entering a New Season of Cold War”? and “What Role will Regional Powers Play in The Time to Come?”. The seminar was hosted by the Institute of International Relations at Hallym University of Graduate Studies and organised by Prof. Dr. Ik-Joong Youn. Alexander Görlach is a Professor of Ethics and Theology, currently teaching at New York University.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation Seoul embarked on a fascinating excursion into the exciting world of Getbol, Korea's wetland biotope. The day brought a mixture of discovery, learning and appreciation for nature. In line with the aims of HSS-Korea, the participants left with new knowledge and a deeper commitment to environmental protection, as well as a heightened awareness of the importance of habitats and how to protect them.

Markus Ferber, Chairman of Hanns Seidel Foundation, was re-elected as a member of the European Parliament in the European elections on June 9th. The Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea congratulates him on five more years in the European Parliament.

On the 4th of June, Prof. Dr. Dr. Alexander Görlach held a seminar on the topic “Why Europe is moving to the right? – Global trends and regional peculiarities”. The seminar was hosted by the Institute of European Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, organized by Prof. Dr. Kim Si Hong. Alexander Görlach is a Professor of Ethics and Theology, currently teaching at New York University.
