On September 28, 2018, Dr. Bernhard Seliger and Kim Young-Soo of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea met with Lee Kyong-il, the newly elected county chief of Goseong County, Gangwon province, as well as with the new director of the Gangwon DMZ museum, Rhee Won-Chan.

On September 17 and 19, 2018, a seminar on international scientific cooperation for the environment took place in Vladivostok.
