Visit of a delegation from Baden-Württemberg to Korea in October 2023

The purpose of the trip was to explore the South Korean market, especially through the food industry and forestry. Therefore, half of the delegation consisted of food experts and the other half were foresters. Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea organized the following two events for the delegation in cooperation with the German-Korean Chamber of Commerce: A networking evening on 10/5/2023 and an informational visit to NIFoS (National Institute of Forest Science) on 10/6/2023.

The delegation of Baden-Württemberg had a networking event with Korean experts and entrepreneurs organized by the German-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea at dinner on October 5, 2023. Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea invited four forestry experts (One professor from Korea University, Two from FAO Korea and One from AfoCo - Asian Forest Cooperation Organization). From Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea Dr. Bernhard Seliger and Mr. Kim Young-Soo were present.

On the morning of 6.10.2023, the delegation visited NIFoS (National Institute of Forest Science) in Korea following the organization of Hanns Seidel Foundation and interested in the facts about the South Korean forest. A detailed lecture was followed by lively discussions and afterwards there was a small guided tour in the arboretum of NIFoS. This was an optimal opportunity for the delegation to learn about South Korea's forest and further forest cooperation between the two countries. The delegation left the institute highly satisfied.
