Visit at Hanns Seidel Foundation in Munich

On October 25, Mr Kang, Gi-Jung, MP (Democratic Party) of ROKs National Assembly until May 2016, visited the Headquarter of HSF in Munich and had a meeting with Mr. Willi Lange, Head of Division Northeast Asia at the Institute for International Cooperation.

As the system of German Political Foundations is not common in ROK, Mr. Lange provided information about the historical development of Political Foundations in Germany and their financial funding. Being ideologically close to the parties with political influence, they do not share financial funds nor personal recruitment with these parties. Working as political think-tank and institution for political education in Germany, HSF runs about 100 projects worldwide, too. 

 

Mr Kang was interested especially in the focus of HSF on decentralization and federal development but also on projects in the field of ecology and climate change. These subjects are of global relevance, so also for the development of the Republic of Korea.
