The DPRK’s Forest and Environment Status

An article by Dr Hyun-Ah Choi, Senior researcher of HSF Korea has been published in the 644th issue of the monthly magazine, Forestry by National Forestry Cooperative Federation.

The article introduced the DPRK’s Forest and Environment status related to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Huyn-Ah Choi, Senior researcher at the Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea, contributet to the National Forestry Cooperative Federation, Korea with an Article titled " A look at the UN Sustainable Development Goals in regard to Forestry and Nature protection in North Korea and bilateral Cooperation with South Korea".
It focuses on the activities of the Hanns Seidel Foundation with the purpose of implementing the United Nations' Global Goals.
Amongst others, a study trip to North Korea to visit the District Tree Nurseries of Mundok and Ochon, along with two seminars on the topic of foresty were organized for German and North Korean experts. Furthermore, the HSF advocated for the modernization and enviroment protection of the Mundok Migratory Bird Reserve after the DPRK joined the East Asian - Australasian Flyway Partnership.

Dr. Choi speaks in favour of Cooperation with North Korea on the basis of Nature Protection and Sustainability, especially in the name of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
