The new edition of THE UNIFIED KOREA (April 2017)

A new edition of the magazine “The Unified Korea”, which deals with topics concerning Korean unification, has been published by the Institute for Peace Affairs, a long-standing partner of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Korea.

Among others, this edition (April 2017) features the following topics:

The main feature of this issue contains a series of articles on the topic: “A Crisis can be an opportunity too – New government in search for a breakthrough.” Articles pay special attention to the North Korean missile launches that have increased in number over the past year. Authors discuss the threat and possible measures against it.

This edition also covers an event that was hosted by “the Unified Korea” in late March. The Unified Korea, in cooperation with the Institute for Peace Affairs (IPA) and the Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea Office, hosted the 8th Unified Korea Forum. The Forum concentrated on “Transmutations in Security on the Korean Peninsula and South Korean Counterstrategies.”

As one of the co-hosts Dr. Bernhard Seliger, representative of the HSF, complemented welcoming remarks with a brief overview on recent projects of the foundation.
