A new issue of The Global Citizen has been published. The publication has decided that the theme of the ninth summer issue will be “The Fourth Industrial Revolution,” referring to a new generation of information, technological advancement, and the humanities. This generation carries its own sets of contradictions as well, however: within a world of radical efficiency and convenience lie diminishing jobs and work opportunities.

Against this background, the journal explores questions concerning South Korea’s corporate reform (Kwon Oh In), human’s role in the Anthropocene (by Kim Kyung Ryul), political education (by Lee Jung Hee), and the growing problem of youth unemployment in not only South Korea (by Chae Chang Kyun), but also Japan and Germany (by Oh Hak Soo and Shin Kwang Young respectively).

Dr Bernhard Seliger of Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea is a member of the Board of Editors. His article, "Fareast Russia's economy," was featured in the publication as well. The article asserts that the region, despite its reputation as a cold, barren land, holds economic potential, and discusses the economic opportunities in Vladivostok.
