Symposium on Developing Strategies to Strengthen DPRK's Health System

On September 25, Dr. Bernhard Seliger, representative of HSF Korea, and intern Fabienne Fornauf attended the Symposium on International Healthcare Development of the DPRK.

In addition to proposals to strengthen the health system in North Korea, the event also discussed related strategies to combat climate change, which poses health risks, for example through extreme weather conditions such as heat waves or high air pollution. The invited experts provided productive information and discussion approaches.

Dr. Seliger was also one of the speakers at the event. He reported on the successful projects conducted by HSF Korea in cooperation with North Korean partners, in the medical field, and in environmentally oriented measures. In this context, Dr. Seliger especially highlighted the importance of international exchange, in which NGOs play a significant role, specifically in the delivery of expertise and other assistance. The seminar ended with a concluding discussion session, where the importance of the topics discussed was once again emphasised.
