Study trip to Germany together with IPA on reunification

Every two years the Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea together with its partner in the field of reunification is organizing a study trip to Germany. This year the trip took place from October 23 to 30 in Germany (Kim Young Soo, Project manager of HSF Korea, was in charge of organisation and on site management).

Five out of the six participants came from South Korea, and were joined by a professor of the Yanbian University in China. After visiting Berlin, the group went to Leipzig, Erfurt, Geisa, Nuremberg, and Munich. In the following a list of the different locations and topics is provided.

- Center for Political Education Thuringia: “Change in the new federal states after the unification on the example of the Free State of Thuringia”

The study trip provided an overview of the German unity and wrong or missing facts could be replaced or added. Since 1990 the HSF Korea and the IPA have been organizing these study trips in Germany, and so far about 160 Korean opinion leaders have taken part. The goal of the HSF Korea is to share the experiences on reunification in Germany with the Korean society by providing the study trips.
