Special Lecture at the Gaesong Industrial District Foundation

A special lecture took place at the Gaeseong Industrial District Foundation (GIDF). Felix Glenk, project manager for North Korea, introduced the work of Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) worldwide and in Korea, the system of party political foundations in Germany and experiences of the projects on the Korean Peninsula.

HSF Korea is working in Korea for around 30 years and in North Korea since about 15 years. In recent times, the work focuses increasingly on environment issues and transboundary cooperation. During the lecture, the projects and activities of HSF Korea were introduced. The Gaesong Industrial District Foundation invited HSF Korea for this lecture and a lively discussion proved the interest of the participants. It was a valuable opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas on transboundary projects and how cooperation between countries can be facilitated despite political differences.
