Seminar on SGDs in North Korea and the Korea Global Forum for Peace

Hanns Seidel Foundation will be participating in the Seminar on SDGs in North Korea and Rason on 20th of August as well as organize a special session during the Korea Global Forum for Peace (KGFP).

Since the outbreak of the Korean War, there have been various actors contributing to the efforts of reaching peace on the Korean peninsula.  One of these actors is the Korea Global Forum for Peace (KGFP), a forum hosted by the Ministry of Unification (MOU) of the Republic of Korea. KGFP has been an annual forum for researchers, experts, and government officials from various countries, giving the opportunity to discuss issues concerning North Korea and the lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.

 

2020 marks the 70th year since the outbreak of the Korean War, which represents a meaningful time for the division of the peninsula and the efforts for peace. In this year’s forum Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Korea will organize the special session with the Rural Research Institute under Korean Rural Cooperation on 9th of September, 10:10 am. In addition, Dr Bernhard Seliger, Representative of HSF Korea, will participate in the session organized by KINU at 10am and Dr Hyun-Ah Choi, Senior researcher of HSF Korea will participate in the session organized by Academy of Northeast Asian Studies, HanaNuri at 1:30pm on 8th of September as a panelist.

Furthermore, a seminar on the SDGs in North Korea and Rason will be held on Thursday 20th of August at 4pm (KST) where Dr. Seliger will take part and hold a presentation. A further report about the events will be made.
