“I think the Day of Tree-Planting is the best day for signing such a cooperation.”, said Dr. Seliger of HSF Korea to openthe meeting. With the Memorandum of Understanding, HSF Korea and RRI start a cooperation which will be a profitable compound for both sides. HSF Korea has experiences with projects on sustainable development, agriculture and forestry on the Korean Peninsula. The Rural Research Institute for its part provides excellent technical expertise and specialists in these fields.
In his presentation, Dr. Seliger shared insights into the work and programmes of HSF in Korea as well as the progress the foundation made over the past 15 years. Much attention was given to the status of development in North Korea and the most serious problems of the region, such as access to water supply or the use of modern technology. Mr. Jang Jung-seok showed great interest in the foundation’s work and projects.
