Perspectives of tourism development in North Korea

Tourism is a potential field of growth in North Korea. However, the security crisis on the Korean Peninsula makes growth under the current circumstances very difficult.

In September, Dr. Bernhard Seliger of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea was invited by the Institute for Peace and Unification Studies (IPUS) of Seoul National University, a long-term partner, to talk about the perspectives of tourism development in North Korea.

After the opening remarks by Prof. Chong Keun-Seok, Director of IPUS, and the presentation, a lively discussion with professors, researchers and students followed.
