The Hanns-Seidel Foundation (HSF) is pleased to welcome new research interns!

University graduates who have qualifications and interests that correspond to the HSS's areas of specialization have the opportunity to complete a research internship. During their internship, they can take part in a variety of activities. These include attending specialist events with experts, carrying out in-depth research, assisting with day-to-day organizational tasks, and making valuable contacts.

HSF welcomed two new interns:

Hannah Schiff has been supporting the team since the end of April, for a period of four months. Until 2022, she studied Cultural Studies at the University of Passau, specializing in Southeast Asia, with a focus on politics and society in Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Hannah is currently studying for a double master's degree at the University of Konstanz in Germany and the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology in Taiwan. Due to previous stays abroad and personal specializations, she is particularly interested in the domestic politics of Korea, inter-political relations in Asia, human rights, and current social issues. Through an internship at the Hanns Seidel Foundation, she would like to expand her knowledge in these fields in particular but is also looking forward to gaining insights into other subject areas.

Lena Werger has been supporting the HSF as a research intern since the end of April. She studied political science and modern history at the University of Heidelberg as part of a two-subject bachelor’s degree program. She is currently deepening her knowledge as part of a master’s in political science at Goethe University Frankfurt. She specializes in international relations with a focus on the European and East Asian regions. The internship at the HSS offers her the opportunity to gain insight into the work of a political foundation and thus to make a career decision before graduating soon.

An internship at the Hanns-Seidel Foundation not only provides comprehensive insights into inter-Korean relations, environmental protection, and issues relating to Korean reunification. It also supports interns in their professional orientation and creates a link to their future careers.

HSS Korea also welcomes future applications with great anticipation!
