Memorandum of Understanding between CRIK and HSF

On 13 December 2016, Climate Change Research Institute of Korea (CRIK) and Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for future cooperation.

The goal of the signed MoU is to work together on the Korean Peninsula’s problems and the collaboration of research on environment issues including climate change, afforestation. CRIK has been established in 2009 to prepare for mid and long term climate change response strategies with systemic researches. HSF and CRIK will promote the exchange of knowledge in the aforementioned common fields of interest.

 

After the MoU ceremony Dr. Bernhard Seliger, representative of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Korea, talked about aspects of climate change mitigation through afforestation and capacity building in forestry as a precondition for effective mitigation.
