Meetings with HSF Zhejiang Office

Researchers of HSF Korea and Dominic Sprenger, the representative of HSF Zhejiang office, held talks with the Climate Change Center, the UniKorea Foundation, and the OJeong Resilience Institute (OJERI) on sustainable environmental education.

HSF Zhejiang Office has been working on many projects for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for a long time. In addition to introducing ESD in Germany and China to 80 partner elementary, middle schools and universities, HSF Zhejiang office also provides ESD to elementary and middle school teachers to make learning about sustainable environments easier and more fun for students.

 

Climate Change Center

The Climate Change Center introduced the projects of ‘Climate Change Leadership Academy’ and ‘Climatus College for Youth generation’, and HSF Zhejiang introduced ESD Projects as well, and discussed possible future collaborations between the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Climate Change Center.

UniKorea Foundation

In addition to introducing the university students' projects from the UniKorea Foundation related to peace on the Korean Peninsula, HSF Korea, HSF Zhejiang, and UniKorea Foundation discussed ways in which they can collaborate with the upcoming university students' summer camps of HSF Zhejiang.

 

OJeong Resilience Institute (OJERI)

OJERI Institute of Korea University is offering SDG-related courses through the ‘Green Campus’ project and developing SDG-related games and educational content. Korea University is the first Korean university to declare carbon neutrality by 2045. HSF and OJERI have discussed ways to further collaborate on SDG-related education.

 

The three organizations visited on October 17 have a long-standing relationship with HSF Korea, focusing on the environment and peace on the Korean Peninsula, and will be implementing and continuing several projects with the Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea and the Zhejiang office in the future.
