Meetings in Songdo

Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea (HSF) visited Songdo to meet local partners. Felix Glenk, project manager for DPR Korea of HSF Korea, Dr. Hyunah Choi, senior researcher of HSF Korea and Youjin Cho, research intern visited East Asian-Australian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP) and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

EAAFP

First, representatives of HSF visited EAAFP and had a meeting with Doug Watkins, chief executive of EAAFP secretarial, Vivian Fu, communication officer, and Hyeseon do, programme officer. HSF Korea and EAAFP reviewed ongoing projects and proposed new projects for future cooperation. Especially both entities discussed the opportunities to increase global engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic and plan future cooperation.

 

UNESCAP

After the meeting with EAAFP, representatives of HSF visited UNESCAP and meet Dr. Sangmin Nam, Deputy Director of UNESCAP, Mijin Lee, Researcher of UNESCAP, and Qian Cheng, Associate Environmental Affairs Officer. Both organizations share their international ongoing projects and limitations they currently facing on. Along with the discussion and arrangements, UNESCAP agreed on having cooperative activities with HSF in the future about biodiversity and forestry in Korean Peninsula.
