In the light of the recent rapprochement between South and North Korea, on October 10th, 2018 the conference “Germany and Korea: Integration and Unification” will take place at the Seoul National University from 1:00 p.m to 5:15 p.m. This conference is an international joint conference organized by the Seoul National University, the Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea and the Free University of Berlin. Many international experts from both Korea and Germany will attend the conference and talk, among other issues, about the German experiences of reunification and how Korean and German experts interpret the systematical and political changes in North Korea and possible parallels. Dr. Bernhard Seliger, resident representative of HSF Korea, will also attend the conference and give presentations about the recent changes in North Korea.

The Seoul National University, in particular the Institute for Peace and Unification Studies and the Graduate School of Public Administration, are main project partners of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. They have been cooperating for more than 10 years, both in the field of unification issues and other projects. They have also co-hosted plenty of conferences together.

If you would like to find out more about the reunification process, and the German and Korean view on Korea’s recent situation, we hope you will join us at the conference on October 10th.
