Internship programme of the German School in Seoul and the Hanns Seidel Foundation

For many years, the Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea has offered young people the opportunity to gain first experiences for their future careers. Through its internship programme, the foundation is offering students the opportunity to gain insights into the work of a political foundation in general, and the projects of HSF Korea in particular. Thus, they acquire valuable skills in terms of research, administration and project coordination. Moreover, the foundation puts much emphasis in fostering already existing knowledge, by encouraging its interns to contribute to the work.

Since it is important to HSF to especially encourage young people to participate in the internship programme, the foundation regularly offers students of the German School Seoul International (Deutsche Schule Seoul, DSSI) to complete the school-initiated two-week internship, that is mandatory for all students of the 10th grade, at the Korea Office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation.

This years student Intern Ona Karanovic was able to gain important experiences and insights into working life: "It was my pleasure to complete this two week journey at the HSF and gain the necessary knowledge for my future career, since it was a nice to see the difference between school and work. Now I know that these last few years of high school should be treasured, because contrary to former belief, work is definitely more difficult than school. I acquired new skills and experiences and was delighted to be able to contribute to the work that is done at the Hanns Seidel Foundation."

HSF Korea received a certificate by the DSSI honouring the active promotion of internships at the office.
