On 31 March, Goyang Research Institute hosted the 22nd Goyang Forum. The topic of discussion was the possibility of cooperation in the Northwestern region of Gyeonggi, the border area through peace economy.

Goyang Research Institute was established on March 26, 2017 as the spearheading policy research institute of Goyang City. One of the institution’s main goal is to realize visions of Peace-Economy. Dr. Joung Eun Lee, from Korea Institute of National Unification, Dr. Seong Woo Yi, from the Gyeonggi Research Institute, and Dr. Ji-Ho Ahn gave a presentation about the Peace-Economy process, Mega-region on the Korean Peninsula, and the network in the North-western part of Gyeonggi – Gimpo, Paju, and Goyang area. Dr. Hyun-Ah Choi from HSF Korea also attended as an invited discussant. She mentioned the need for a building of peace economy with environmental conservation in in the Northwestern part of Gyeonggi. The participants agreed that there is a need of cooperation and network among the Gimpo, Paju, and Goyang area. These discussions need to be continued.
