Joint photo exhibition-Yeoncheon and Hof, Germany, an international partnership

Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do, held an online opening for a joint photo exhibition with Hof, Germany, an international partner city of Yeoncheon-gun, on the theme of division, unification, and peace to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of German unification on October 3, Korean National Foundation Day.

In this photo exhibition, the two countries prepared a ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the UN forces' participation in the war and truce in 2023. They could also exchange with each other, which had been delayed due to the corona pandemic. Of the 24 photos scheduled to be exhibited until July 27, 12 are representative photographs of Korea, reflecting the history of the Korean War and aspirations for peaceful unification. In particular, the location for this photo exhibition is a cafe, considering the revitalization of the commercial area caused by the pandemic.

To congratulate the opening exhibition, Dr. Seliger, director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, and Young-soo Kim, secretary-general, participated in the ceremony. About 30 domestic and foreign officials from various civic and public organizations, including the Gyeonggi Northern Office and Yeoncheon-gun organizations, attended. In his opening speech, Yeoncheon Governor Deok-hyeon Kim expressed his consolation and gratitude for the sacrifice and dedication of the 16 UN and Korean veterans who gave their precious lives and youth in the Korean War and said that Korea should do his best to achieve peaceful reunification.
