GAO is a NGO established on March 2014, aiming at Greening the Korean Peninsula, “Green Korea, Green Asia”. Greening the Korean Peninsula is a global agenda of preventing desertification and responding to climate change and is the only countermeasure to reduce the damage of forest desertification on the Korean peninsula. HSF Korea tries to contribute to the reconciliation and implement the green project on the Korean Peninsula. GAO and HSF Korea are working together on greening the Korean peninsula.
On 30 April 2019 Dr Bernhard Seliger, Representative of HSF Korea and Dr. Choi, Hyun-Ah, Senior Researcher of HSF Korea had meeting with Mr Go, Gun, Representative of GAO and Prof. Lee, Woo-Kyun, Korea University, Ms Shin, Heyji, Researcher of GAO to discuss and promote international cooperation in the forest field.
