Expert Group Meeting in Kathmandu

In July 2023, experts from the Middle Latitude Region (MLR) and the 3rd Pole countries gathered at Kathmandu University for a two-day Expert Group Meeting.

The meeting aimed to tackle critical challenges and strengthen socio-ecological resilience through science-based adaptation and mitigation strategies. Jointly organized by the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Korea, OJERI - OJEong Resilience Institute, the MLR Network, and Kathmandu University, this event emphasized collaboration and cooperation among the participating nations.

 

The Middle Latitude Region and 3rd Pole countries, including Nepal, Bhutan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Korea, are crucial for their ecological and geopolitical significance.

Dr. Hyun-Ah Choi, representing HSF Korea, shared the foundation's work and future cooperation ideas. Local and international partners, including OJERI - OJEong Resilience Institute, the MLR Network, and Kathmandu University, played essential roles in making this meeting a success.
