Korean Association of NK Studies virtual conference

On 9^th July the Korean Association of NK Studies organized the virtual conference regarding new security issues such as environment, health, and safety issues. Dr Hyun-Ah Choi, senior researcher of HSF Korea attended the parallel session about - new security issues and North Korea as an invited speaker. She shared the environment security strategy in responding to climate change and results of environmental activities in North Korea under the international regime. She also explained the future direction of the environmental cooperation with North Korea.

Joongang Sunday Series – German Unification after 30 Years

Dr. Bernhard Seliger’s periodical article, ’30 Years After German Reunification’ was published in JoongAng Sunday. This month, he wrote about “flourishing landscapes” emerging after the end of socialism and freeing of market forces in East Germany. He talked about contested and ridiculed ideas of Helmut Kohl, former Chancellor of Germany, implementing socialist market economy to East Germany. Furthermore, Dr. Seliger looked forward to a day of unification on the Korean Peninsula that focuses more on the lives of North Koreans than competition for ideological differences.

Peace Medical Center Advisory Committee Ceremony

On 28^th of July the Peace Medical Center which was part of the National Cancer Center organized an online meeting and appointed the member of the advisory committee. Dr Choi, participated in the meeting and will share the idea for exchange and cooperation between two Korea as a member of the advisory committee.
