Ethics in the Era of Globalization - new publication announcement

Globalization and the end of the Cold War held great promises of increased wealth to spread from the wealthy countries of “the West” throughout the world. However, in reality wars, inequality and misery did not end. New crises, religiously motivated wars, populism and authoritarian movements arose in many world regions.

In September 2013, the 9th Korean-German Colloquium of Sogang University and Catholic University Eichstätt took place in Seoul, bringing together leading social theorists, academic experts and church leaders, among them Prof. Dr. Anton Rauscher of the Catholic Central Socio-scientific Research Unit, founder of the series of seminars, which are since a long time supported by Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea. Now, Prof. Dr. Lee Kyu-Young, Sogang University, published in Sogang University Press the proceedings of the colloquium, among them a contribution of Dr. Bernhard Seliger, representative of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea, on economic policy, globalization and ethics.
