Commemorating the Retirement of Professor Lee Jong-won of Suwon University

Professor Lee Jong-won of Suwon University retired in 2015 and published his collection of research papers commemorating his retirement.

Professor Lee began his study in the Department of Commerce and Trade of Sungkyunkwan University in 1970 and achieved his master’s degree in economics at the graduate school of the same university, and his PhD in economics at the University of Rome in Italy. Additionally, Professor Lee had served as the President of Korea Trade Research Association, director of the Korean Association of Trade and Industry Studies (KATIS), and executive director of Korean Research Society for Customs (KRSC). He joined the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies from 1994 as a member of the board of directors, and is currently in the advisory group (former presidents) of KSCES, from which he received a contribution award in 2001.

Prof. Lee has been a long-term partner of Hanns-Seidel Foundation, among others as being member of the advisory board to the website on East Asian integration www.asianintegration.org.

The collection of research papers celebrating his retirement consists of the congratulatory message from the president of KSCES, Dr. Lee Seung-geun, Professor Lee’s retirement message and some of his research papers. Professor Lee’s representative research papers include ‘A Korea-EU Free Trade Agreement and Analysis of its Economic Effects using a Dynamic CGE Model’ and ‘Explanatory Power of Neofunctionalism: The Case of European Integration from Paris to Maastricht’ etc.
