Charity Summer Festival of the German-speaking Parishes

Again in this year many Korean, German and international families and guests gathered for the annual Charity Summer Festival of the German-speaking Parishes on May 28th 2016 at the German School in Seoul. As in the years before Hanns Seidel Foundation hosted a booth and sold „Käsebrötchen“ and German wine, amongst others from Saxony and Baden.

Moreover the visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the Sunday afternoon with a wide range of other German specialties like original German beer, „Sauerkraut“ and „Leberkäse“. Until late into the evening many guests sat together and enjoyed the atmosphere with beer and wine. Besides the many culinary highlights of the festival a raffle took place where the guests had the chance win many great prizes, such as a popular flight ticket to Germany.

The event takes place every year at the end of May and is hosted by the German-speaking Parishes.  All earnings from the food sale and the raffle are for the benefit of the charity projects of the DKG Seoul (German-speaking catholic community Seoul) and the EGDS (protestant community German language in Korea), such as the Aids and Cancer Aid project in Wonju or the „house of sharing“ in Daejon which supports more than 900 homeless people.

Hanns Seidel Foundation is looking forward to be part of the next Summer Festival of the German- speaking Parishes in 2017 and wants to thank all guests and organizers for a successful event this year.
