The Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea was represented at the festival yet again and offered cheese sandwiches and a variety of German and international wine. Yet the festival itself already provided a selection of international delicacies such as Pajeon (Korean pancake), Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, German beer and a lot more.
By selling the meals and lottery tickets for a self-made raffle the parishes acquired revenues for their numerous social projects conducted by the Catholic Parish Seoul (DKG Seoul) as well as the German Protestant Parish (EGDS) in Korea. Projects like the Aids- and Cancer hospice in Wonju, the House of Sharing in Daejeon to support over 900 homeless people, the intensive consulting service and an information campaign for prevention of unnecessary Carbon-dioxide emissions.
The Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea staff gratefully enjoyed the delightful Summer Festival along the variety of dishes and beverages. Some even developed a sense of nostalgia being surrounded by the German atmosphere. We would like to thank all the participating guests and certainly the hosts for this successful festival. The staff is already looking forward to be part of the Summer Festival next year yet again.
