The calendar was distributed to government institutions related to the environment, but also to local people in areas which are of special significance for migratory birds, such as Onchon County, Mundok County and Tongchon County. Especially there the calendar aims to provide quick information about tide levels and at the same time raise awareness for migratory bird species in the DPRK. The calendar also provides information about characteristics, habitats and the conservation status of certain bird species, such as White-naped Crane (Grus vipio), Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Eurynorhynchus pygmeus) and Black-faced Spoonbill (Platalea minor).
