1. Visit program of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea Office at the end of 2022: representatives of the Goseong county visit Germany

District Administrator Florian Wiedemann and District Administrator Ham, Myong-Jun with his delegation in the District Office Bayreuth, in the back in the middle Hartmut Koschyk (State Secretary/MdB a.D.) and beside him Young-Soo KIM (HSF Korea)

Mr. Ham, Myong-Jun, District Administrator of Goseong County in the Gangwon province, completed a study tour in Germany from November 1-9, 2022, at the invitation of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation and was organized and accompanied by Mr. KIM, Young-Soo, Project Manager of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea Office. In addition, a total of 6 employees of the District Office went along to gain various experiences in different fields such as politics, administration, economy, environment, international relations, etc.

The visit program of District Administrator Ham and his delegation started in Berlin. Before attending the 20th German-Korean Forum in the Bundestag, Mr. Ham had a political discussion session with Andreas Scheuer MdB and gave a lecture on the situation of the border region using the example of his district for the German-Korean Society in the Korean Cultural Center in Berlin.

The 20th German-Korean Forum is an important opportunity for the delegation to perceive a lot of information and interesting analysis regarding the German-Korean relations and international relations.

In Munich, the delegation visited the headquarters of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation and besides that two Bavarian ministries: The Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection and the Bavarian Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport, where reports were given on the changes in relevant sectors after reunification in each case.

The last destination of the visit was Bayreuth, where the partner county of Goseong is located. The partnership between Goseong County and Bayreuth County was concluded through the mediation of Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea Office in 2010. Mr. Ham and his delegation visited three institutions in Bayreuth: Government of Upper Franconia, District Office Bayreuth and IHK Upper Franconia.
