5th Changbai Mountain Forum

The forum carried out in-depth discussion on the protection, sustainable use and development of biological resources in Changbai Mountain. Ms. Hyunah Choi, researcher at Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Korea, attended the forum and did presentation about the international cooperation for DPRK’s environmental restoration. Ms. Choi explained the DPRK’s current environment projects supported by international organizations including EU. Ms. Choi also moderated in the ecology section. From the ecology section, Ms. Yuyoung Choi reviewed bioclimatic classification of North-East Asia including Korea Peninsula. She simulated bioclimatic map and compared the result from 1960 to 1990 and 1970 to 2000.

During the forum Ms. Choi had a meeting. The meeting took place on 28th July 2016 with Prof. Ying Nan, Prof. Guishan Cui from Yanbian University, Prof. Woo-Kyun Lee, Prof. Sang-Won Bae, Mr. Seelgee Lee from Korea University, and Mr. Yoo-Soon Ahn, Ms. Chu-Hong Kim from Seoul National University for exchange of views on the North Korea's forestry sector.
