On November 30, 2023, the 40th Tongil Hankuk Forum, a cooperative project between Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea and the Institute Peace Affairs, took place at Dong-A University in Busan.

On November 30, 2023, the 40th Tongil Hankuk Forum, a cooperative project between Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea and the Institute Peace Affairs, took place at Dong-A University in Busan. The title of the forum was "The Korean Peninsula in the Hyper-Connected Era through the 4th Industrial Revolution". The forum discussed the recent change in the security constellation based on the rapid technological development in AI and IT-related fields. Participants also debated the resulting policy changes in Northeast Asia and beyond.

 

Kim Young-Soo, Project Manager of Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea opened the forum. Prof. Dr. Hong, Seok-Hoon from Changwon National University followed with a presentation. Prof. Dr. Li-Dan from Pukyong National University and Dr. Chae, Soo-Ran from the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) participated as discussants.
