The first session started with a keynote speech by Shin Hee-young, the president of the Korean Red Cross. He talked about the health care cooperation and integration between South and North Korea for unified medical care. He addressed that due to the unique condition of North Korea, it would be possible to build an R&D partnership as North Korea has a variety of bacteria that could not be found in other countries. Also, Go Yu-Hwan, the representative of Korea Institute for National Unification shared the ways to restart the communication with North Korea.

In the second seminar session, Dr.Seliger participated as a presenter to share the experience of medical cooperation between Germany and North Korea. He illustrated how Germany support Rason Catholic Hospital in 2004 and educating North Korean medical students in 1999. Especially, he points out the positive outcome of supporting medical education from Germany and get medical workers such as nurses from North Korea. Dr.Seliger suggested the possible German-North Korea medical cooperation in the future: exchange of nurses and nursing students, build academic cooperation in terms of humanitarian support, and exchange of hospitals of North Korea and Germany.

The last part of the forum was a panel discussion. Experts on this field shared their ideas to build a practical model for mutual exchange and cooperation on the premise of coexistence. Through this forum, Goyang City will lay the foundation for the establishment of the "Korean Peninsula Peace and Medical Education Center" and be reborn as a medical cluster connecting the South and North Korea.
