2021 Pyeongchang Peace Forum

From February 7th to the 9th, the 2021 Pyeongchang Peace Forum will take place on and offline in the Pyeongchang Alpensia Convention Center and via YouTube. This year’s Pyeongchang Peace Forum is hosted by the Gangwon Province, Pyeongchang City, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and organized the Pyeongchang 2018 Legacy Foundation.

The topic of the forum will be “Action Plan: Peace New Deal” under the slogan “Peace! Here and Now.”  The main themes of the forum are Economy, Sports, DMZ Peace Zone, UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), Public Diplomacy and Gangwon 2024 (Special Theme).

HSF Korea will also be participating in the forum, hosting a parallel session from 5pm to 6:30pm on the 8th at the Luge Hall, which will also be broadcasted online. Speakers for this session include Bernhard Seliger and Hyun Ah Choi of HSF Korea, Doug Watkins of EAAFP (East Asian – Australasian Flyway Partnership), Donguk Han of ECO KOREA and PGAI (Wetland Ecology Institute), and Jongseok Park of JBESC (Jeollabuk-do Ecotourism Sustainable Center). The speaker will be discussing “The Possibility of Eco-peace Tourism in the South & North Gangwon Province Through Bird-watching.”
