Fostering Partnerships and Exploring Contemporary History

As part of a multi-day trip, stops were made at the Forum of Contemporary History in Leipzig, the German-German Museum in Mödlareuth, and the District Office in Hof. The program focused on Germany’s divided past and strengthening the partnership with Yeoncheon County in South Korea’s Gyeonggi Province. The visit included a lecture on the Euregio Egrensis cross-border project and an exchange with Hartmut Koschyk, former Parliamentary State Secretary and past President of the German-Korean Society.

In the following days, the trip continued beyond Berlin to include Leipzig, Mödlareuth, and Hof. In Leipzig, the group visited the Forum of Contemporary History, followed by the German-German Museum in Mödlareuth. Present at the museum visit were Dr. Oliver Bär, District Administrator of the Hof district, and Susan Burger, the museum´s deputy director, who both took part in the tour. Afterwards, the group visited the District Office of Hof (LRA Hof), as there is a partnership with Yeoncheon County in Gyeonggi Province, and the aim to strengthen the ties and cooperation. Harald Ehm gave a lecture on the Euroregion Egrensis project.

In Bayreuth, Mr. Koschyk – former Parlamentary State Secretary, Member of the Bundestag, and former President of the German-Korean Society – joined for a joint exchange.
