Roundtable on Geopolitical Developments and North Korea Policy

On June 9, 2025, the Korean Council for Peace and Cooperation (KCPC), EURAXESS, and the Hanns Seidel Foundation hosted a roundtable at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Experts discussed the geopolitical developments in the U.S., developments in the war in Ukraine, and the future of South Korea’s North Korea policy.

On June 9, a roundtable was held at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), organized by the Korean Council for Peace and Cooperation (KCPC), EURAXESS, and the Hanns Seidel Foundation. Experts from politics and business discussed the impact of the presidential election on North Korea policy, the prospects of the war in Ukraine, and the implications for Korea.

The thematic introduction was given by Dr. Kim Jeong-Ro, President of the KCPC. Particular focus was placed on new geopolitical developments in the United States, the course of the war in Ukraine, and possible changes in South Korea’s North Korea policy.
