We Are Hiring: Project Manager – Korean Peninsula (HSF)

HSF is hiring a Project Manager for its Seoul office to support projects on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia. The role focuses on coordination, reporting and administration, particularly in relation to dialogue and regional cooperation initiatives.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) is announcing a vacancy for the position of Project Manager – Korean Peninsula at its office in Seoul. The role involves supporting projects on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia, with a particular focus on North Korea.

The position primarily includes the coordination, administrative support, and reporting of projects in the areas of dialogue promotion, regional cooperation, as well as academic and policy exchange. It offers the opportunity to work in an international environment and collaborate closely with partners in South Korea, North Korea, Northeast Asia, and Europe.

 

Job Offer: 

Project Manager – HSF Korean Peninsula (Full-time, 40 Hours/Week) 

The Project Manager works under the supervision of the Representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation on the Korean Peninsula and Mongolia. The position supports the administration, coordination and reporting of projects related to the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia with focus on North Korea

Requirements

  • University degree in political science, international relations, public administration, law or a comparable field
  • Excellent written German skills for project reporting and documentation
  • Very good English communication skills - Knowledge of Korean is highly desirable
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills - Interest in international cooperation and Northeast Asia
  • Ability to work independently and reliably in an international team
  • High level of responsibility, precision and discretion
  • Identification with the values and goals of the Hanns Seidel Foundation 

Tasks: 

  • Support in the preparation of monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems required by the Foundation’s Head Office (e.g. project monitoring tools and evaluation documentation).
  • Administrative and organisational support for project activities, workshops and conferences
  • Preparation and documentation of project activities and meetings
  • Preparation of reports and documentation for the Head Office in Munich
  • Support in the preparation of financial documentation and project accounts
  • Coordination of project logistics including travel arrangements and event preparation
  • Preparation of background materials, briefings and summaries
  • Support in maintaining project databases and documentation systems
  • Assistance in communication with project partners and institutions
  • Participation in project-related travel within South Korea, to North Korea, other countries in Northeast Asia and abroad may be required
