In late November 2025, the Gangwon DMZ Museum opened a new photo exhibition on North Gangwon Province, supported by Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea. Notably, featuring photographs by Dr. Bernhard Seliger, Resident Representative, showcasing the region’s landscapes and cities and highlighting years of partnership in the border area.

In late November 2025, the Gangwon DMZ Museum in Goseong, located within the Civilian Control Zone directly adjacent to the DMZ, opened a photo exhibition on North Gangwon province, supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) Korea. The exhibition features 25 photographs taken by Dr. Bernhard Seliger, Representative of HSF Korea, during his visits to the region between 2008 and 2019. The pictures not only depict the countryside but also the cities of the beautiful province. Thanks to the curators at Gangwon DMZ Museum, Mr. Kim Young-Soo, project manager of HSF Korea, and Dr. Bernhard Seliger enjoyed an inspiring tour through the exhibition. The photo exhibition can still be visited until the end of February.

The visit also provided an opportunity to bid farewell to HSF's long-standing partners in Goseong. In the County office, representatives of the HSF meet with their counterparts from Goseong to discuss ongoing projects and explore future cooperation. Goseong has been a partner of HSF since 2004, and numerous activities like the establishment of an eco-path, Goseong seabird survey, the establishment of a partnership with Bayreuth County in Germany, regular visits of German politicians to Goseong, and people from Goseong in Germany have been facilitated as part of the program. Since the establishment of the DMZ Museum, the museum has become an important partner of HSF Korea. The current photo exhibition is already the third exhibition co-organized by HSF Korea in Goseong.
