Felix Jonathan Glenk has assumed the position of Representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation for the Korean Peninsula and Mongolia, based in Seoul.

In this role he coordinates the Foundation’s activities on the Korean Peninsula while also continuing to oversee its long-standing programs in Mongolia.

Mr. Glenk previously served as Resident Representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Mongolia from 2021 to 2025, where he led the Foundation’s cooperation programs in the fields of rule of law, judicial reform and institutional capacity building.

Before that, he worked in Seoul from 2014 to 2021 as Project Manager for North Korea programs, focusing on environmental cooperation, sustainable forestry and regional exchange initiatives. His work involved close cooperation with international organizations and academic institutions in Northeast Asia.

With his new appointment, the Foundation’s work in Korea and Mongolia is now coordinated under a joint regional structure, strengthening cooperation and exchange between the two programs.

In Korea, the Hanns Seidel Foundation focuses on dialogue with partners in government, academia and civil society, as well as regional cooperation initiatives in Northeast Asia.

In Mongolia, the Foundation has supported the development of rule-of-law institutions since 1993. Current activities include cooperation with the Constitutional Court of Mongolia, judicial and prosecutorial institutions, and academic partners such as the National University of Mongolia.

A particular focus of the current program is strengthening the practical functioning of governance processes, including administrative procedures, legislative drafting and evaluation, disability rights, and reforms in the criminal justice system such as juvenile justice and enforcement of court decisions.

Mr. Glenk began his assignment on 1 January 2026 and has now officially taken up his duties in Seoul following preparatory consultations with partners in Munich, Berlin, Bayreuth and Geneva.
