Meeting with Unification Minister Hong Yong-Pyo

During the visit of Hartmut Koschyk MP, Chairman of the German-Korean Parliamentary Group in the German Parliament, in Seoul, a meeting took place with the Minister of Unification of the Republic of Korea, Hong Yong-Pyo, in which also Ambassador Rolf Mafael, Dr. Bernhard Seliger, Resident Representative of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Korea, and Kim Young-Soo of HSF Korea participated.

The meeting discussed the effects of the fourth nuclear test of North Korea. While in the long run dialogue and reconciliation were the only way forward, at the same time a clear answer to the provocation had to take place. Hartmut Koschyk proposed a comprehensive strategy for negotiating with North Korea including China and the US, similar to the Iran negotiations.
