Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea's representative, Dr Bernhard Seliger, recently published an article entitled "Towards a Green Revolution in North Korea - Hydropower, International Climate Regimes and the Nuclear Elephant in the Room" for the magazine KORUM. KORUM magazine is a KGCCI publication that provides information on Korea's economy, markets, businesses, technologies, tax, legal or cross-cultural issues. The magazine also contains information on the activities of the KGCCI and its member companies and is published three times a year.
Dr. Seliger's latest article deals with the history of industrialisation in North Korea and its former active participation in the implementation of international energy and climate policies. However, he also argues that the continued advancement of the nuclear and military programme prevents a renewed integration into the international community and thus still stands in the way of a green revolution in North Korea.
The full article can be found here on pages 22 to 26 in the second issue of KORUM Magazine in 2024 entitled: "The Green Revolution: Driving Carbon Neutrality in Energy".
