RCE Tongyeong’s Milestones and HSF’s Regional Engagement

RCE Tongyeong celebrates its 20th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of Sejahtera Forest with the 2025 ESD International Forum, joined by the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) delegations from Korea, China, and Mongolia.

In 2025, RCE Tongyeong commemorates two remarkable milestones: the 20th anniversary of its designation as Korea’s first Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and the 8th globally, as well as the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the RCE Tongyeong Sejahtera Forest.

To mark these significant occasions and to reflect on the future of ESD, a delegation from the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), representing Zhejiang Province (PR China), Mongolia, and the Republic of Korea, participated in the 2025 Tongyeong ESD International Forum held on 16 May 2025.

As part of the Forum, HSF Korea shared key environmental publications related to ESD, including the Global Flyway Workshop report and CEPA educational materials co-published with the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership and Hwaseong City. These initiatives contribute to advancing our efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Through such collaborations, HSF continues to promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and social progress both within the region and on a broader global scale.
