Announcement
2020 International Symposium for Hwaseong Wetlands

HSF Korea works with partners in North and South Korea on sustainable development and wetland conservation, also in order to create a platform for dialogue on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia. The virtual conference on the Hwaseong Wetlands, taking place on December 1, 2020 from 10am - 4pm KST is now open for registration.

The event will illustrate the values and ecological importance of Hwaseong Wetlands and the lessons we can take away from international cases. It also addresses the connection of all wetlands along the west coast of the Korean Peninsula, and especially the connectivity with ecosystems in North Korea.

The event is also related to efforts to use the Wadden Sea - a transboundary natural heritage site along the wetlands of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands - as an example for a potential natural heritage site designation of the wetlands in China, North Korea and South Korea. HSF Korea support this process and is also an official sponsor of the 2020 International Symposium for Hwaseong Wetlands.

When? December 1, 2020, 10am - 4pm KST

The symposium will be live-streamed for the audience through two YouTube channels in English and Korean
