Bavarian Education Delegation in Korea
Strengthening German-Korean Educational Cooperation – Bavarian Delegation Visits Korea

As part of the project "Digitalization in Education," a Bavarian delegation led by the State Institute for School Quality and Educational Research (ISB) and supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Education visited Korea. The program included school visits in South Jeolla Province and Seoul, as well as an excursion to the inter-Korean border. The Hanns Seidel Foundation supported the visit with a briefing on inter-Korean relations at Aegibong Observatory in Gimpo. In July, a return visit by a Korean delegation from South Jeolla Province to Bavaria is planned.

 

German-Korean relations in the field of education, and in particular Bavarian-Korean relations, increase in intensity and diversity. As part of the project on digitalization of education and digital textbooks a Bavarian delegation led by the Bavarian Institute for School Quality and Educational Research (ISB) and supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Education was in July in Korea. Visits to schools and other partners in South Jeolla province as well as in Seoul were part of the project. Kim Young-Soo and Dr. Bernhard Seliger of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea supported the delegation by organizing a trip to the inner-Korean border. At Aegibong observatory near Gimpo Dr. Seliger briefed the delegation about inter-Korean relations. All in all 19 persons, among them directors of vocational training schools, the head of the ISB and a civil servant from the Ministry of Education, participated in the delegation. In July there will be a visit by a Korean delegation from South Jeolla Province in Bavaria.er, the head of the ISB, as well as a representative of the Ministry of Education, took part in the delegation. In July, a delegation from South Jeolla Province will visit Bavaria.
