Visiting programme in Belgium – Expert talks and visits to the European Parliament

As part of the visiting programme “Peace and Exchange in Europe and Northeast Asia – remembering, reconciliation, exchanges”, the delegation visited sights and talks in Brussels, touching topics such as reconciliation and the influence of Europe.

As part of the visiting programme “Peace and Exchange in Europe and Northeast Asia – remembering, reconciliation, exchanges”, a delegation visited different cities and sights in Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Poland. The goal of the trip is to promote the dialogue of reconciliation and peace in Europe and Northeast Asia.

In Belgium the programme was organized by the HSF Belgium office, which started on the 27th of May with different talks of experts about peace and reconciliation as well as the influence of regions in Europe. HSF Belgium offered its office as a venue for interesting talks and held an expert round table, including insights from all participants and experts on the topic of “Peace and Reconciliation – Perspectives from Europe and Northeast Asia”.

On the 28th of May, the delegation visited the European Parliament and was offered a tour by Kevin Bayer who elaborated on the work of the European Parliament and its importance to the European Union nowadays and in the future.

 

Members of the delegation were Dr. Seliger (Country representative HSF Korea), Nyambayar Purevsuren (Researcher at National Institute for Strategic Studies of Mongolia: Economic Analyst at Parliament Television of Mongolia, from Mongolia), Hanna Suh (Research Fellow at CINAP; Committee Advisory Member at CBCK, from South Korea), Dr. Seiko Mimaki (Concurrent Researcher at Center for Transimperial History, from Japan), and Prof. Meng Hong (Professor for German politics, society and culture at Remin-University Beijing, from China). During their visit in Belgium, they were accompanied by Mrs. Wiesner of the Hanns Seidel Foundation Belgium.
